Emotional Literacy

Empathy is understanding and caring about how someone else is feeling. Children with empathy can better navigate social situations and form peer relationships. Since empathy involves understanding how someone else is feeling, the first step is teaching about emotions, often referred to as emotional literacy. Reading for emotion and emotion charades are two ways you can teach emotional literacy.
