Emotion charades is a game in which one child acts out an emotion, while the rest of the children try to guess what emotion is being portrayed. To play this game, write down different emotions on slips of paper and put them in a hat or a bowl. Then, a student picks a slip of paper from the hat and acts out the emotion written on the paper without using words, while the rest of the class guesses what emotion is being portrayed. The emotions can range from simple emotions such as happiness, sadness, or anger to more complex emotions such as envy, frustration, or anxiety. After the emotion is guessed correctly, the class can talk about the emotion, why it may be challenging to deal with, and what children can do to respond with understanding and support.
